SimIS is currently recruiting for the listed position and is contingent upon award. This position is 100% "Onsite".  

Job Description:
The ideal candidate is responsible for leading electrical design and engineering efforts to evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity and materials for electrical systems. The candidate will devise new approaches to problems, prepare or modify drawings, specifications, and provide quality control of projects built by others. The candidate will perform analog circuit/network analysis with an understanding of power semiconductor physics and the implication of device physics on terminal parameters. The candidate will also utilize SPICE/PSPICE modeling of circuits, schematic capture, printed circuit board layout, and circuit assembly/fabrication techniques. Performs other related duties as required.

The candidate performs the following specific assignments:
  • Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications
  • Designs and conducts research programs for asymmetric warfare projects
  • Applies knowledge of electricity and materials for electrical systems
  • Devises new approaches to complex electrical engineering problems
  • Prepares or modifies drawings and specifications
  • Provides quality control for projects built by others
  • Performs analog circuit/network analysis
  • Demonstrates understanding of power semiconductor physics
  • Performs SPICE/PSPICE modeling of circuits
  • Conducts schematic capture and printed circuit board layout
  • Oversees circuit assembly/fabrication techniques
  • Uses RF/microwave test equipment and programs such as Labview and Matlab
  • Supports research, design, development, fabrication, testing, and evaluation of RF devices and technologies
  • Designs printed circuit boards (PCBs) and provides feedback on designs
Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • At least five (5) years of experience in electrical design and engineering techniques
  • OR ten (10) years of experience in electrical design and engineering techniques without degree
Experience Desired:
  • Experience with RF/microwave communications systems
  • Experience with embedded system design
  • Experience designing for harsh or austere environments
  • Experience with DoD or Navy programs
  • Experience with technical data package development
  • Experience with configuration management processes
  • Experience leading technical teams
Special Skills/Knowledge/Training Required/Desired:
  • Proficiency with Labview and Matlab
  • Proficiency with SPICE/PSPICE or equivalent circuit simulation software
  • Experience with PCB design software (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCad)
  • Knowledge of DoD standards for electronics
