Job Description: The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) has a requirement for technical and engineering support in the systems engineering, integration, maintenance, documentation, and development and operation of training simulations. SimIS seeks a Technical Systems Analyst to provide analytical and technical support for shore-based training systems, focusing on scenario development, system integration, and performance analysis. This position requires strong technical skills and the ability to analyze complex simulation systems and training requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or related technical field
Minimum 4-6 years of experience in systems analysis or military simulation systems
Experience with scenario development and validation processes
Knowledge of military training systems and simulation technologies
Travel required: 25%
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in simulation system analysis and performance evaluation
Experience with DIS/HLA simulation standards and protocols
Knowledge of LUA scripting and scenario development tools
Understanding of system integration principles and methodologies
Familiarity with database management and data analysis tools
Experience with technical documentation and reporting
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
Experience with requirements analysis and system specification development
Knowledge of verification and validation processes
Understanding of configuration management principles
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and technical teams
Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to analysis
Ability to translate operational requirements into technical specifications
Key Responsibilities
Conduct technical analysis of simulation systems and training requirements
Support scenario development, verification, and validation activities
Analyze system performance and identify improvement opportunities
Develop technical documentation including specifications and procedures
Support configuration management activities and change control processes
Participate in technical review meetings and provide analytical input
Conduct system integration studies and compatibility assessments
Analyze training effectiveness and recommend system enhancements
Support engineering change proposal development and review
Prepare technical reports and briefings for management and government customers
